The idea for the story came about after I received a message on Facebook from someone I hadn't seen for 25 years. We met on a long trip around Australia and I fell in love with her and when I got back home my father thought that my mood was due to my relationship with her having finished, rather than the future crisis that I was suffering from. Therefore, I was feeling quite nostalgic when I wrote the story because it brought back memories of the wonderful time I had had with her before her real boyfriend showed up from Germany.
