Having one leg has challenges
most people never dream of.
Even with my prosthetic leg, I
can't do what I want.
Pushing myself, I can get out
into my garden, but hoeing
takes two footed balance, most
people are unaware of.
With one leg you get a fresh
perspective on walking. It's okay
on the concrete, but across
the lawn it's a mess.
I stare out the kitchen window
at fruit trees that need to be
pruned. Sycamore leaves litter
the lawn, that I cannot rake.
For all of my tales of woe and my
laments, I wear a smile. There is so
much I can do, having one leg really
doesn't matter.
