I am surrounded by negative images. I get tired of all the lies about who I am as a Black woman. This poem is the outcome of my awakening spiritually, a bold statement of self love and my celebration of just being what I am and that is being a woman or to take it further just being human.

Rain (Ebony Members) was born into a musical family. Her parents Bobby and Jackie Poindexter, along with her uncle Richard Poindexter wrote such classics as Thin Line Between Love and Hate and Hypnotized.She was born to write, so Ebony takes this beautiful gift that was passed down to her and, to the best of her ability, spreads the message of humanity and love.

This is  not a song
It's just a mere description of me
I am not good with word so my pen speak for me
I am tired of repetitous love songs either he wants you or he don't
I am tired of writing bout the lost souls that roam the ghettos
I am tired of vanity, worldly goods people claim to posess
I am tired of the shallow writings  of what man can sex me the best
I am tired of contradiction war and world peace in the same sentence
I am tired of a whole nation of sinners
Hiding behind their white picket fences
Ohh your baked apple pies scented your gracious skies with hidden truth 
But how can I ake the word of a man who named his promisedland                                                                                after the forbidden fruit
And lady liberty the precious gift, said the new world was free
Was that not for me cause my people
Was shackled to their hand and feet in slavery
And english is the tongueof this stolen land even for the indian
Oops my bad now its native american
Ohh my many changes and phases I went through
I went from negro to nigger, african,
To afro american, african american
But the most high said from adam i made man submissive
And rain you are no different
So if anyone ask of your description
tell them you are better than the best man with many of riches
cause i simply made you a black woman
