Empty Room

Opening the curtains to the dreary sun
The light reveals an empty chair
Your chair
A dirty bookshelf missing a few books,
A broken lamp missing the light bulb,
A table covered with old tattered papers.
In the corner, a small piano
I sit and touch the keys
A discordant note plays
I play the song you once loved
Listening to the unpleasant sound
I close my eyes and remember
