OldSoul POETSTREET: Spoken Word Poetry (Volume 1)
by Harold Lee Rush

(From the Forward)
In my lifetime we've gone through records, (45's and LP's), record players and turn tables, through 8-tracks and cassette tapes, through CD's to mp3's; through Polaroid's and film to memory chips; from VHS and BETAMAX to DVD's to mpg's and wmv's and flv's; through VCR's to DVR's; through transistor radios, Boom Boxes and WalkMan's to IPODS and flash drives; through black and white TV, through color TV and cable to big screen TV's and satellite; through party lines and rotary dials, through Princess, Touch Tone and cord-less phones, through pagers all the way to cell phones with cameras on the hips of children and sophisticated communication devices in the hands of teens as they text, as adults juggle their Iphone and Blackberry; through room size computers and punch cards through desk top PC's through MAC's, lap tops and IPAD's; through dial up, AOL to 3G, 4G lightening speed Internet access. We've gone from encyclopedia to Wikipedia; from browsing library shelves to surfing to searching with Google; from writing love notes and long letters to sending emails, IM's and tweets; gone from Saturday night dates to speed dating; from socializing to social networking, from face to face to Facebook and chat rooms and mini-cams on the world wide web. So much change in such a short time. And so much more to come before I get out of here. The poetry herein is my take on some of the things I've seen, heard, felt and experienced in my corner of the planet. I hope a few touch your heart and spark your mind
